For me, July was way better than June. And if I were to sum it up with three emotions, it would start with being…
Hopeful

I think I cried last June well enough, so I slowly got back to my goals and taking better care of myself again (notably, eating good food while controlling my appetite). Warm conversations with my loved ones also helped me feel good, and I’m a guy who frequently holds back. All of those good things led me to hope, something I felt I’d never have again.
Grateful

This month, I was reminded to be grateful for the following: a good support system, helping in the family business and earning money in the process, my hobbies (old and new), and my routines. Sure, my life still has its downs (e.g., work stress and mood swings), and honestly, I hope and wish for other things, but I’m grateful for what I already have, and I must not take them for granted.
Persistent

I think this is the most important emotion for this month: persistence.
Despite the stress and emotional lows, I persisted. Even though I was not always hopeful and grateful this month, I persisted. But hope and gratitude helped me be more persistent, and I should keep it that way, especially since I want the next several months to be happy ones.
So, yeah, my July was full of hope and gratitude, and I’ve been persistent through all of that, too. Here’s to a better month this August!
