Honestly, the longer I blog here, the more often I get writer’s block. But let me fix that by listing some of the things that have made me smile. That’s easier to talk about, right?
Anyway, let’s begin with the very recent happy thought that inspired this post!
Person of Interest on Netflix Philippines… Finally!
I’ve seen so many shows over the years, but nothing has topped Person of Interest, a sci-fi crime drama thriller series, and my favorite of all time. The show is about an ex-CIA agent and a billionaire hacker who stop violent crimes before it’s too late (with the help of a secret surveillance AI), and it ran for five straight seasons from 2011 to 2016.
I’ve seen POI so many times that I lost count; either I watch all five seasons (one episode per day) or one random episode daily. That’s how much I love it. I also recommended it to my Filipino fans, but sadly, it was not on our local streaming platforms for them to even check. I was pretty sad about that. In fact, I’d always type in “person of interest” on my Netflix, and I ended up seeing just the “similar” shows, and that didn’t help with the fan sadness at all.
Then this afternoon, I typed the title again, and I saw this:

As a huge Pinoy POI fan, I’ve been waiting for this for so long. Finally, I can rewatch it and recommend it to my friends who have Netflix! Hoy, wala na kayong kawala! It’s on Netflix, damn it! ๐
Person of Interest is coming to Netflix Philippines on Tuesday, May 12!
Foo Fighters’ New Album: Your Favorite Toy
When Dave Grohl randomly announced during a Foo Fighters concert last January that they had finished recording a new album, every fan (including me) freaked out! Not long after, they started beefing up their social media presence, and they even updated their website, which reminded me of the fan sites of old.
On February 19, they released their single (which is also the title of the new album): “Your Favorite Toy.” It sounds wild and raw like the old Foo Fighters, and the fanboy in me is so happy about that!
The tracklist made me feel more excited, and it includes my most recent favorite, “Asking for a Friend” as the closing song. Akala ko standalone single lang yun!
Fast forward to midnight of April 24 (release day), I had to drink plenty of water so I could listen to Your Favorite Toy at least once before going to bed. And, man, what an album! For me, so far, the Foos haven’t missed! They are back to being loud, and many people may agree that loud Foos = best Foos. And if I were to pick my personal favorite aside from “Asking for a Friend”, it would be “Child Actor.” (It became my personal soundtrack that weekend, too.)
But I have a minor complaint about the album: it’s too short. Bitin! Good thing I can just put it on repeat!
Foo Fighters’ Your Favorite Toy is out now on your favorite music platforms and record stores! ๐ค
Instant Messaging
In recent months, I’ve never been more thankful for instant messaging because it literally connects me to people I care about (old and new), even if we are far apart. I can just reach out to loved ones with a smartphone and a simple message, no matter the busy schedules, time zones, and distance.
Thank God for modern technology. ๐
And those are the things that made me happy.
That’s it, pansit!
