Post 34: Sometimes (Part 4)

All of my music-related answers to the prompt: “Sometimes, (blank).”

Let me try something different today. This entry under the Sometimes category will be about something I love: music.

Sometimes, I listen to loud music.

I mean, the first song I usually hear is my alarm clock sound and my favorite song of all time, “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters. Best. Song. Ever.

Plus, the first playlist I listen to after waking up is filled with loud rock (Foo Fighters, Motörhead, Coheed and Cambria, Nine Inch Nails), and it gets me amped up for the day ahead. I also listen to loud music when I feel kilig too much to the point of being distracting.

Sometimes, I listen to calm music.

I really love rock music, but sometimes listening to it for longer hours can be overwhelming. So, I have a mellow playlist to calm my nerves. Of course, there are some soft-sounding Foo Fighters songs in there, plus gentle music from Air Supply, Colbie Caillat, Bruno Mars, and even The Beatles.

Sure, I don’t like feeling kilig too much, but feeling that even for a little while? Best feeling ever.

Oh, here’s a piece of my calm playlist: “Realize” by Colbie Caillat. I’ll leave it to you if I’m saying something.

Sometimes, I only listen to one song the whole day.

Sometimes, when I feel something too much, I only listen to one song that matches that feeling.

For example, when I made a fan art last year, there was only one song playing in the background: “Knock Knock”, a vigilante attack theme from Person of Interest’s soundtrack made by Ramin Djawadi. It helped me focus harder on the task, though that meant not caring too much about anything else (and that can be a bad thing).

That’s it, pansit.
