Because of all the heaviness lately, I’ve been distracting myself a lot. How am I doing that? Well…
Sometimes, I explore new music to distract myself.
For example, I’ve been checking out music from Sleep Token, a mysterious rock group from England. And by checking them out, it went from distraction to amazement. Why? Their music is undefinable, but it’s also refreshing because they can go from beautifully melodic to overwhelmingly loud the next. The first song I heard from them, “Caramel,” has to be my top favorite by far.
Thanks to Clang, one of my best friends, for recommending this amazing band to me!
Sometimes, I go to a different cafe to distract myself.
While I enjoy being at my home cafe, it’s nice to try different cafes in the metro because not only does it distract me, but it also resets me. I love it when I sit at a cafe I’ve never been before, with my journal, writing pens, and a latte (or an affogato when it’s available) on my table.
Sometimes, I write to distract myself.
Whether I’m in a cafe or at home, whenever I feel heavy, I still try to write on my blog or in my journal to distract myself. It regulates my mood; it helps me vent out all the frustrations and sadness. If I feel better after writing, that’s good. If I don’t, that’s fine, too. What matters is that I get to distract myself even for a little while.
That’s it, pansit.
