Post 43: 3 Songs for A Rainy Day (Part 1)

Three songs for the gloomy season… and my mood, too.

May ended, and so did the summer season. Lately, it’s been drizzling, raining hard, or just gloomy. The funny sad thing is that my recent mood fits the season, and so do these three songs:

Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”

Both Bob Dylan’s and Adele’s versions are comforting to hear, but in this rain-themed post, I pick the latter because her voice and the piano sound more tender, and I like listening to more of that while walking in the rain.

Puddle’s Pity Party’s “Helena”

You know what’s more depressing to hear than My Chemical Romance’s emo anthem, “Helena”? Puddles Pity Party’s version of it. It sounds more reflective and brooding, and it’s always on my rotation when I’m in my bed on a rainy night.

Prince’s “Purple Rain”

To close off this post, here’s Prince’s signature song, “Purple Rain.” According to Prince, it “pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love…” And honestly, these rainy days, it feels like the end is near. Nothing more.

That’s it for now. Happy June.
