Another busy day at work today, so whatever I planned on writing… waley. Out of the window. But that’s fine.
I’ll just share the three songs I keep listening to lately.
Foo Fighters’ “Child Actor”
A few weeks ago, while I waited for the release of the Foo Fighters’ new album, Your Favorite Toy, I also had an emotionally draining time. “Child Actor” stood out to me because I connected the simple lyrics to an issue that’s been bothering me for a while: feeling unheard of.
Turn the cameras off
It became that weekend soundtrack, too. I’m okay now, but I still love listening to it. I hope they release it as a single (with a matching music video) soon!
Nine Inch Nails’ “Wish”
I’ve been listening to more Nine Inch Nails the past several months, and I’ve found some new favorites along the way. But honestly, I haven’t found a song that could top my favorite, “Wish.” Even if I don’t play the iconic industrial rock song on my music player, sometimes it plays in my head. That’s how much I love it.
Wish there was something real
Wish there was something true
Spice Girls’ “Too Much”
Aside from “Stop,” “Too Much” is my favorite song from the legendary pop girl group. Why? It doesn’t sound like your typical Spice Girls pop song; it’s slow and intimate like the R&B songs of old. Bata pa lang, favorite ko na ‘to.
Also, because of the chorus, it became a soundtrack of my college life (a pretty significant time for me).
Too much of something is bad enough
Yes, I listen to Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails… and Spice Girls. I love great music in general, not just rock.
Anyway, that’s it, pansit!
