Earlier today, I had a hard time writing a long, eloquent post. But then I realized I don’t have to do that. I could just share something simple, like the three songs I’ve been playing on repeat recently.
Bruno Mars’ “Treasure”
My favorite song from Bruno Mars’ second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox, alongside “When I Was Your Man”. It’s a fun disco song to dance to, and lately, I’ve been listening to it while I attempt to dance a la Bruno and his band, The Hooligans.
(Yes. The exact choreography. Yes, I danced alone. And nope, I’m not going to record myself dancing. Nope.)
Linkin Park’s “Faint”
One of my favorite songs from Linkin Park’s second studio album, Meteora. The string sample layered with the band’s signature nu metal sound makes the song so unique. It’s easily one of my top five favorite LP songs of all time.
Also, I will never forget August 13, 2013, the night when my brother Jay and I got to see LP live. There wasn’t a single boring moment. Every song they performed was a total banger (including “Faint”), and the crowd’s energy was out of this world. What a night.
We love you, and we miss you, Chester Bennington.
Richard Sanderson’s “Reality”
This is a great 80s love song (made for a French film, La Boum), but honestly, I only discovered it during one of my cafe hangouts last year. (Or maybe I heard it when I was younger, but I forgot. I should’ve known years ago because it sounds really romantic.)
I’ve been playing it more recently because it reminds me of someone in a gentle way.
Yun na muna.
What are the three songs you’ve been playing on repeat?
