Post 11: My Recent Emojis

A visual presentation of my emotions lately.

Last week, I started following a blogging schedule of every Tuesday and Thursday. That felt nice. Then I didn’t blog yesterday, and I felt bad about that. But I shouldn’t feel that way because I needed some time to rest and get some urgent work done. Nothing wrong with resting and being productive, right?

Anyway, lately, while I’m done with work, I’ve been working on a model sheet based on myself, and one part of that is a set of facial expressions. These are three of those expressions, and how they mirror my feelings lately.

Happy

I’m happy because I’ve been on a roll with art lately, even if I have a day job. One of the things I created is the model sheet I mentioned earlier, and the image you’re seeing above is just a small part of that.

See how wide my character smiles? That’s how happy I am.

I’m also happy about the cool weather. I wish the amihan weather lasted longer, but sadly, it only lasts for a few months in the Philippines. I’ll just enjoy the comforting cool while it’s still here.

Tired

While I’m happy to be on a creative and productive roll lately, I felt tired, too. Having a day job and making art takes a lot of time, plus physical and mental effort, especially the latter. And I can’t do both sometimes. After all, I’m human, not a machine.

I think that sometimes, getting tired can be a good thing if it comes after putting a lot of energy into something important. But obviously, we all need rest so we can keep doing those important things, and be…

Calm

Thanks to rest, my routines, and my other hobbies, I’ve also been calm. When I calm down, I get the energy to keep doing the important things.

For example, having a hot honey/citron/ginger tea this afternoon calmed my nerves. Another way for me to calm down is listening to my mellow playlist before bedtime.

Anyway, since I feel calm now, I should probably get back to expanding my model sheet.

And those are my emotions lately. That’s it, pansit.
