I’m supposed to make this Post 8, and then add the title “Post It!” Post 8. Post It. Post. It. Get it?
Anyway, here are a few reminders for myself:
Your body can’t stay up late as often now.
Remember when you were in college, and you could go seven days a week with less than five hours of sleep? That was a long time ago. Take it easy.
But…
If you need to stay up late, get some coffee.
That cup of black coffee you drank during the Royal Rumble last weekend helped, right?
Habits ground you, but breaking them every once in a while can surprise you.
For so many years, you always bought an affogato whenever you were at your home base. Then, one night, you tried something different, a hot Earl Grey tea with raspberry syrup, and you couldn’t get enough of it since.
See? Sometimes, trying something different can be worth it.
Make simple pleasures extra special by not enjoying them often.
When you started doing that with your favorite chicken burrito from Army Navy, admit it. It became tastier. Eating it less often made it more special. It also helped you lose weight.
Speaking of losing weight…
Exercise more often.
Come on. It’s 2026. As mentioned, you’re not in college. You need to be more physically active. Also, notice that your previous notes on this post mentioned food? Nothing wrong with enjoying food, but you need to take care of your health, too.
Keep praying that one line from “Walk” by Foo Fighters.
“To keep alive, a moment at a time.” You’ve been praying that to God a lot, and it works, right? Keep praying. He is always with you.
Don’t do everything all at once. You can’t.
Focus on one task, finish it, then move on to the next one. When it becomes overwhelming, say no. You’re human, not a machine.
Speaking of me not being a machine… that’s all the sticky notes I can think of for now. Maybe there will be a Part 2? But we’ll see. After all, I’m human, not a machine.
